You can’t bet on the U.S. presidential election in the states, but in Canada it’s open season. There’s plenty of interest in the topic here, with Canadians looking on at the deepest political divisions that many of us can remember in our lifetimes.

DraftKings Ontario is capitalizing on that, posting odds for the 2024 election, and not surprisingly in the eyes of many, Donald Trump is the favorite to win.

Trump is at +250 on DraftKings Ontario, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at No. 2 with +300 odds.

Interesting that two Republicans are most favored to win across Ontario sports betting sites.

Then there’s incumbent president Joe Biden at +550 and incumbent vice president Kamala Harris at +1200.

Two other Republicans then follow — former VP Mike Pence at +1400 and former UN ambassador Nikki Haley at +2500.

Some notables: Dwayne Johnson +4000, Jeff Bezos +6500, George Clooney +10000, and Mark Zuckerberg +20000.

Ontario Operator Update

Bally Bet Casino is now up and running in the province, featuring a selection of Ontario casino games, including blackjack, slots and roulette.

The number of live iGaming sites in the province now sits at 32.

Ontario iGaming Financials

As we continue to wait for the Ontario government to release sports betting revenues in the province, we go back to this quote from Brandt Iden, head of government affairs U.S. for Sportradar (who did a lot of work in a regulated Michigan market), during a panel discussion on developments in the land-based, online, lottery and charitable gaming sectors at last month’s SiGMA:

“In order for market to continue to be successful going forward, from a supplier perspective, you have to have transparency in the market. ... So I can sit here and say [market launch] has been successful, but I only know that from people I have talked to here, or (Ontario sports betting apps) that have been downloaded, which we can track, but without information from the regulator we can’t determine how well the market is doing,” he said.

"[The release of numbers] has to be consistent. ...These are some of the things that make a market regulated versus a grey market. We have some ways to go on transparency."

FanDuel NHL Odds

It’s never too early for hockey.

FanDuel Ontario has a market for teams to record 100+ points next NHL season.

Early bettors like the Oilers (-150), with longshots like the Senators (+420), Sabres (+830) and the Devils (+600).

Always remember that OntarioBets has you covered when it comes to NHL betting.
