Rootz is the latest iGaming operator to join the regulated Ontario online casino market. The operator’s Caxino Online Casino site (yes, that’s Caxino with an X), now live and operating.
That brings the total now to 40 licensed operators in the province.
Rootz already has a presence in Canada and is now operating under the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and iGaming Ontario guidelines in the province for Ontario online casino apps. Rootz has a range of casino gaming opportunities – Caxino Online Casino is just one of them – from online slots to live casino action, a selection of old favorites and new releases.
Rootz Also Operates in Germany
The company also has an operating license in Germany.
“Increasing our footprint within regulated markets is in line with a dynamic strategy that seeks to provide innovative gaming solutions to players around the world,” Rootz CEO Lasse Rantala said in a statement. “Ontario is an important market for us, and we welcome the opportunity provided by AGCO to become a licensed operator and to enter into an operational agreement with iGO.
“As an operator, we prioritize the need for safe, secure and fair play; the strict compliance requirements within regulated markets such as Ontario … will provide peace of mind to our customers that they are enjoying play experiences with a licensed provider.”

Ontario Super Bowl Betting Insights
The BetMGM Ontario Sportsbook has the Philadelphia Eagles as a 1.5-point favorite over the Kansas City Chiefs for Sunday’s Super Bowl 57. The opening spread was the opposite. And 67% of bettors are taking the Eagles.
The most bet props as of the end of the week were Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to score the first touchdown (+650), Kelce to score anytime touchdown (-125) and result of the coin toss (-105). The Eagles 37-34 Chiefs correct score is another most bet prop, at +8000. Hundreds of Super Bowl props are available at Ontario sportsbooks.
“The Chiefs winning the Super Bowl is what BetMGM needs. The worst scenario is Travis Kelce scoring the first touchdown and the Eagles winning 37-34. We’d lose sleep over that result,” said Seamus Magee, Sports Trader, BetMGM.
Corporate Clarity For Northstar Gaming?
The conclusion of an arbitration transaction process of NordStar Capital LP has settled the dispute over control of several companies, including NorthStar Gaming Inc., which offers the NorthStar Ontario Casino app.
Jordan Bitove remains the full owner of Torstar Corporation, the parent company of the Toronto Star newspaper, and will maintain a voting rights interest in VerticalScope Holding Inc. and in NorthStar. Bitove had been in a dispute with business partner Paul Rivett over the future of the company, particularly around the Star.
The company also offers the NorthStar Bets Ontario Sportsbook.
“With the investor rights interests in VerticalScope and NorthStar, we have a fantastic opportunity to continue building these organizations, while fully supporting their management teams to meet the moment and fully leverage their cutting-edge technology,” Bitove said.
