The latest opportunity is just around the corner, for those who enjoy online poker in Ontario, to feel the excitement of tournament action.

The PokerStars North American Spring Championship of Online Poker is coming next month, and poker players in Canada’s largest province have an invitation.

PokerStars NASCOOP Prizes

There is a multi-million dollar guarantee for the purse size in each version of the NASCOOP, which is available in Ontario and in the states of Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania (the Michigan and New Jersey markets have shared liquidity). In Ontario, the prize pool is $2.3 million in Canadian currency (nearly $1.7 million U.S. based on the current exchange rate).

Players using the PokerStars Ontario online poker site can register for the event, which takes place April 5-22. In U.S. markets, players in Pennsylvania can sign up to compete for a prize pool worth $2.25 million USD and those in New Jersey and Michigan will vie for a shared pool of $3 million.

The PokerStars NASCOOP is the latest chance for poker enthusiasts in the province to join in a major tournament.

The World Series of Poker is allowing online players to get in on the ground floor in hopes of qualifying for this summer’s Main Event in Las Vegas. The WSOP Main Event, an in-person tournament set for July 16-17, is the most prestigious prize in the game with a 50-plu years history. Last year’s winner, Daniel Weinman of Atlanta, Georgia, pocketed a grand prize of $12 million.

And the online poker community in Ontario now can jump in on another tournament next month.
