DAZN is one step closer to entering the Ontario sports betting market. A subsidiary of the sports streaming company has officially received online sports betting and iGaming registration approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
The approval clears a key regulatory requirement for the company to launch its Ontario sportsbook and online casino platform under the DAZN Bet brand.
Regulatory Approval and What Comes Next
Public AGCO records show the registration was granted on Friday, January 16, 2026. The license allows DAZN Bet to move forward with plans to offer sports wagering and internet casino games in Ontario.
Before launching, the company must still finalize an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario (iGO), the provincial agency that manages Ontario’s regulated online gambling market. A launch date for DAZN Bet’s Ontario sports betting apps and desktop platform has not yet been announced.
Where DAZN Fits in Ontario’s iGaming Market
Ontario’s regulated iGaming market launched in April 2022 and currently includes about 50 licensed operators, counting both private companies and the online platform run by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
The AGCO continues to review and approve new registrations, and DAZN Bet would become one of the newest entrants. The launch would also mark DAZN’s first regulated sports betting operation in Canada, following its expansion into several European betting markets.
Streaming and Sports Betting Under One Brand
Founded in 2016, DAZN is best known in Canada for sports streaming. The company holds Canadian broadcast rights to the NFL, including live game coverage and access to NFL RedZone.
DAZN Bet will operate as a separate wagering platform under the same corporate structure. If launched, the brand would add Ontario online casinos and sports betting offerings alongside DAZN’s existing media services.
