Based on the digital tea leaves of the internet, it seems like Quebec’s blue-and-white provincial flag has left a mark on the people of Canada. So did the standard of the nation’s largest province, the home of Ontario online casinos. The country’s largest province had the third-most recognizable flag of the 13 that make up the Canadian federation, according to OntarioBets.com research.

Based on an online survey, respondents correctly guessed Ontario’s flag 82.9% of the time, ranking behind Quebec (90.5%) and British Columbia (83.8%) on a countrywide basis. Nunavut (82.1%) and Nova Scotia (81.7%) were next up. Here are the results, followed by an explanation:

What Are Canada’s Most Recognizable Flags?

To get our data, OntarioBets.com – your course for Ontario sports betting information – checked the quiz website, Sporcle.com. We used their quiz, “Can you name the Canadian province or territory represented by flags shown?” that has been taken by about 6,500 people. We determined the most recognized Canadian flags by quiz takers by the percentage of people who got each flag right.

Outside of the top six, the next closest flags when it came to provincial knowledge were Manitoba, with 79.2% of correct answers, while Prince Edward Island (78.0%), Saskatchewan (77.7%) and Yukon (77.5%) were the next highest.

Rounding out the list in the Great White North were New Brunswick, at 77.1%, while Newfoundland and Labrador (76.6%) and the Northwest Territories (73.6%) had the lowest totals countrywide.

If you’re interested in testing your knowledge of flags, look to Sporcle.com but, based on the responses generated online, it seems visitors should study up. It seems like there are some gaps in general knowledge about the flying colors of Canada’s 13 provinces and territories.
