Jets vs. Vikings Odds: Who Is Favored to Win?

The Jets and Vikings are not scheduled to meet in the 2025 season. However, there is always a small chance the teams could meet in the Super Bowl.

Key Takeaways

  • The Vikings defeated the Jets 23-17 on October 6, 2024, in London, England.
  • The Vikings and Jets will likely next face off in the 2028 season, barring a similar finish in the standings.

Jets vs. Vikings Odds: Who Is Favored To Win?

The Jets currently occupy the longest playoff drought in the NFL, while the Vikings went 14-3 and made the NFL Playoffs last season. When the teams faced off in London in 2024, the Vikings were the moneyline favorites at -142. Additionally, they were 2.5-point favorites to cover the spread.

What The Spread Tells Us

The spread usually gives us a prediction of the margin of victory for a team. When the teams met in 2024, oddsmakers believed the Vikings would win by three points or more, and they covered the spread.

What The Moneyline Tells Us

The moneyline indicates who is the overall favorite in a specific game. Although the game was on neutral ground in London, the Vikings were the moneyline favorites due to their great start.

History of Jets vs. Vikings

The Jets and Vikings have not played each other much in their history. Notably, they have played just 13 games, including the showdown in London in 2024.

Jets Record vs. Vikings

The Jets lead the all-time head-to-head series 8-5. This series dates back to the days of Joe Namath and Frank Tarkenton. The very first game occurred in 1970.

The Vikings have won the last four games in this head-to-head series, showing how bad things have been for the Jets lately. Prior to that, the Jets had won seven straight games against the Vikings.

All-Time Jets Vs. Vikings Games

There have been 13 total games in the history of this series. But three games have been more exceptional than the rest. Here are the three games.

1. Jets vs. Vikings - October 6, 2024 -live from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England

This was a fun game in London, England. It started off strong for the Vikings, as they jumped out to a 10-0 lead, thanks to a 63-yard, pick-six by Andrew Van Ginkel. Aaron Rodgers and the Jets found themselves down 17-0, but slowly chipped away at the lead. Rodgers had a chance to win it in the final drive but threw an interception, ending any hope of a Jets' win.

2. Jets vs. Vikings - December 7, 2014

This game started out in the wildest way, as Gerald Hodges had a 27-yard pick-six just 12 seconds into the game. Shortly later, the Jets got a safety by sacking Teddy Bridgewater in the end zone. Percy Harvin gave the Jets their only lead with a touchdown on the next drive. Bridgewater threw a touchdown to Charles Johnson to retake the lead. Then, after a field goal, the Vikings recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. The Jets battled back with four field goals to force overtime, but lost on an 87-yard touchdown from Jarius Wright.

3. Jets vs. Vikings -December 2, 2022

The Jets had playoff aspirations as they headed into this game against an excellent Vikings team. Things took a turn in the second quarter as Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison both ran a touchdown into the end zone. While the Jets cut the deficit in the fourth quarter, they were unable to bridge the gap.

Jets Vs Vikings Odds FAQ

The Jets are not scheduled to face the Vikings this season. Barring a Super Bowl showdown or a similar finish in the standings, the teams will next meet in the 2028 season, likely at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The Jets won the first, all-time meeting against the Vikings on Sunday, November 29, 1970, beating them 20-10. The game was played at Shea Stadium in Queens, New York, which would be the home of the Jets until they moved to New Jersey.

The Jets currently lead the head-to-head series 8-5. Currently, the Vikings have won four games in a row in the series, but the Jets had previously won seven games in a row in the series, showing a rare dominance against an NFL team.

The Vikings were favored when the teams met last season, coming in as a 2.5-point favorite. If the teams were to meet again, the line might change, depending on how much these teams improve this season, and which team shows more progress.

If the Jets were to meet the Vikings in the Super Bowl, you can place a bet on any of the officially licensed sportsbooks in Ontario. Some of these websites include FanDuel, DraftKings Sportsbook, Bet365, BetMGM, and many more.
